The Thing (1976 comic)

The Thing, originally Ben Grimm, debuted in Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four #1 in 1961, created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. He is a former test pilot who gains superhuman strength, durability, and a rocky orange hide after exposure to cosmic rays during a spaceflight with his teammates Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm.
