Silver Spoon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of the acclaimed Fullmetal Alchemist. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine from April 2011 to November 2019, spanning a total of 15 collected volumes. The series follows Yuugo Hachiken, a high school student from Sapporo who, feeling crushed by academic pressure and a strained relationship with his strict father, enrolls at the rural Ooezo Agricultural High School in Hokkaido. He initially believes he will easily outshine his classmates, but quickly discovers that farm life is physically demanding, emotionally complex, and requires a completely different kind of intelligence. Unlike his peers, who are mostly destined for careers in farming, Hachiken has no clear path and struggles to find his own dream.
