About this title
Evil Dead Burn

Evil Dead Burn (2026) is the sixth installment in the long-running Evil Dead film franchise, directed and co-written by Sébastien Vaniček and produced by franchise creator Sam Raimi and longtime producer Rob Tapert. The film serves as a direct sequel to Evil Dead Rise (2023) and continues the franchise's tradition of standalone stories connected by the demonic Necronomicon and its possessed Deadite creatures. Set in a secluded house where a young widow (Souheila Yacoub) seeks solace with her in-laws following her husband's death, the film turns a family gathering into a blood-soaked nightmare as members are gradually possessed by demonic forces.

The Evil Dead franchise began in 1981 with Sam Raimi's landmark independent horror film The Evil Dead, which introduced audiences to the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis — the Book of the Dead — and the relentless Deadite demons. Made on a minuscule budget, the original film became a cult phenomenon and spawned a multimedia empire. Evil Dead Burn carries forward the franchise's core elements of demonic possession, extreme gore, and dark humor while shifting the setting to a new ensemble of characters, consistent with the approach established by Evil Dead Rise.

As part of the Evil Dead Standalone Collection, Evil Dead Burn exists alongside other franchise entries that tell self-contained stories within the same supernatural universe. Vaniček, known for his work on the horror film Infested (Vermin), brings a fresh directorial voice to the series while Raimi and Tapert's involvement ensures continuity with the franchise's creative DNA. The film was shot in New Zealand and released theatrically in July 2026 by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America and Sony Pictures Releasing internationally through its Screen Gems banner.

About this collection
Evil Dead Standalone 🎬 Collection
Evil Dead Standalone

The Evil Dead standalone collection comprises the modern entries in the Evil Dead franchise that do not center on Ash Williams, the iconic character played by Bruce Campbell in Sam Raimi's original trilogy. Beginning with Fede Alvarez's 2013 reboot, these films reimagine the core premise — ordinary people besieged by demonic forces unleashed by the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis — through self-contained stories with new characters and settings. Each installment functions as an independent tale within the shared mythology, rather than a direct continuation of Ash's saga.

The 2013 film, directed by Fede Alvarez, offered a grittier, more horror-forward take on the material, replacing the original's blend of terror and dark comedy with unflinching body horror. Evil Dead Rise (2023), directed by Lee Cronin, transported the action from the familiar cabin-in-the-woods setting to a condemned Los Angeles apartment building, focusing on two estranged sisters and their children. Evil Dead Burn, announced for 2026, further extends the collection's pattern of handing the franchise to emerging horror directors tasked with putting their own stamp on the material.

Together, these films represent a creative strategy of anthology-style storytelling within a beloved horror property, allowing the franchise to evolve beyond its original protagonist while preserving the signature elements of Deadite possession, the Book of the Dead, and extreme visceral horror. The standalone approach has enabled the Evil Dead franchise to remain vital and commercially relevant across decades, attracting new generations of horror fans while honoring the legacy of Raimi's influential originals.
