Justice League

The Justice League is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team was conceived by writer Gardner Fox and first appeared in The Brave and the Bold #28 in 1960. The original lineup featured DC's most popular heroes of the era: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter.

The Justice League was created as a revival of the Justice Society of America, DC's original superhero team from the Golden Age of Comics. The team's formation established a shared universe where DC's top heroes regularly collaborated to face threats too large for any single hero. Over the decades, the roster has expanded and rotated to include dozens of heroes, but the core concept remains: Earth's greatest champions united against cosmic, magical, and world-threatening dangers.

The Justice League has become one of the most iconic and enduring superhero teams in popular culture. Its headquarters, the Watchtower satellite and later the Hall of Justice, are landmarks of superhero fiction. The team has been central to countless major DC crossover events and storylines, including Crisis on Infinite Earths, Identity Crisis, and Dark Nights: Metal. Its influence extends far beyond comics into animation, live-action film, video games, and merchandise, making it a cornerstone of DC's legacy.
