Legion of Super-Pets

The Legion of Super-Pets is a team of superpowered animals in comic books published by DC Comics. The original team was introduced in Adventure Comics #293 in February 1962, created by writer Edmond Hamilton and artist Curt Swan. The founding members included Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat, Beppo the Super-Monkey, and Comet the Super-Horse, all of whom had ties to Superman's world.

The concept was a lighthearted extension of the Superman family of characters, bringing together the various superpowered pets that had been introduced individually in earlier stories. Krypto, the most famous member, first appeared in Adventure Comics #210 in 1955 as Superman's canine companion from Krypton. The team occasionally teamed up with the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th century.

The Legion of Super-Pets represents the playful, imaginative spirit of Silver Age comics, when creators regularly introduced whimsical animal sidekicks for popular superheroes. While often played for comedy, the characters have endured as beloved parts of DC Comics lore, appearing in various animated series and comics over the decades.
